The Speedbar says, "Retrieving buttons from My
Way..."
I installed the Speedbar, but it does not appear.
Why?
I cannot find "Speedbar" in my Internet
Explorer toolbars menu.
The Speedbar was on my Internet Explorer browser
but now it's gone. What happened?
My browser says that I do not have the system
requirements to install the Speedbar.
My browser says "user certificate invalid" when I
attempt to download the Speedbar.
Internet Explorer says "current security setting
prohibit running" when downloading the Speedbar.
What is the Speedbar?
The Speedbar is a tremendously powerful and totally customizable toolbar that
installs directly onto your Web browser. Its design allows you to search from
anywhere on the Web using the Internet's leading search providers (Google,
Yahoo!, Ask.com and LookSmart). You also have the ability to add up to 200 of your own personalized links, while enjoying one-click access to the many areas of the My Way site all with no banner ads, pop-ups or privacy concerns.
The Speedbar is free to download and free to use.

Internet Explorer: Go to the Help menu located at the top of your browser. Select
"About Internet Explorer." A box will appear that tells you what version you have.
Note to AOL Users: The Speedbar is designed for use with standard
Web browsers and currently will not function within AOL's software or its built-in Web
browser. However, you can use Speedbar on any supported browser you launch while
you are connected to the Internet through AOL.

What are the system requirements for installing the Speedbar?
The Speedbar is currently available for Windows 95, Windows 98, Window NT
4.0, Windows XP, and Windows 2000. The Speedbar software and cache
require only 300k of disk space on the disk drive containing your windows directory
(usually the C: drive). If you are currently able to run a supported Web browser on your
computer, you should be able to install and run the Speedbar. In particular,
your Web browser and the Speedbar require a 486 or newer, compatible
processor, 16 MB of RAM, VGA display (SVGA is recommended), a mouse or similar
pointing device, and Internet access.

Does the Speedbar track where I go on the
Internet?
No, the Speedbar does not monitor or report back to My Way with information about where
you are traveling when you leave the My Way service or what you do on other Web
sites.

How can
I feel safe knowing the Speedbar is not "spyware"?
The following should help clarify that the Speedbar is NOT spying on you and
that we take guarding your privacy seriously.
The
Speedbar DOES NOT track, collate or aggregate any information about a user when
the user is NOT on the My Way service.
The
Speedbar DOES NOT collect information stored on your user system and DOES NOT
upload information from your computer system to My Way.
The
Speedbar IS subject to My Way's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
The
Speedbar can be uninstalled from the "Add/Remove Programs" Control Panel. Once
uninstalled, all of the Speedbar's registry settings that hook the Speedbar into
your Web browser are deleted. It is also safe to delete the Speedbar's
executable code without uninstalling the Speedbar. The Speedbar's executable
code is (by default) installed in a sub-directory of "\Program Files\My Way\myBar" on the user's drive containing their Windows directory.
Installation
of the Speedbar DOES NOT change the signature of any email or newsgroup clients
or cause such clients to advertise the My Way service.
Our intention was to build a toolbar that would be of value to our users by
providing easy access to My Way's features, content and search functionality. At
the same time, we take the privacy concerns of our users seriously and we have
tried to design the Speedbar out of respect for these concerns. We believe that
we have succeeded and will continue to work on improving the Speedbar with these
concerns in mind.

Can I search the Web with the Speedbar?

choice, then click the "Finished" button. Your Speedbar's Search button will now be
your primary search provider.
In addition to your primary search provider, you can add up to 4 other search provider
buttons to your Speedbar. To do so, click your Speedbar's "Edit" button and select

Enable Offline Browsing: This option tells your Speedbar to request your Speedbar buttons from My Way's servers only after it detects an Internet connection. If you're connected to the Web using an "always on" connection (Cable, DSL, etc.), you may wish to uncheck this option for your buttons to be retrieved faster.
Color Buttons Always: This option allows the icons on your Speedbar buttons to always remain in color. Unchecking this option will cause your button's icons to only appear in color when you click one of them.

the "choose your buttons" page.

Way..."
In some cases, this will happen when you first launch your browser. Retrieving buttons
should not last more than 10 seconds. If it takes longer than 10 seconds, you might not
be connected to the Internet. You must first connect to the Internet using a network
login or ISP account.
